The Mural
The mural on the east wall of Slowpoke Lounge & Cabaret was painted by Pamela Miles in the summer of 2021, and is based on and inspired by an original painting by an unknown artist. The mural was made possible by a grant from River Valley Arts. Thank you to Pam, Tiffany, Dave, Prairie, Kevin, River Valley Arts, Big Wing and the Elusive Shimmer, and all of our generous donors who helped make this possible.
About the Image
In 1971, my father purchased a painting from the John M. Smythe furniture store in Chicagoland. The painting hung in my house throughout my youth, and still hangs in my parents’ home today. We believe the original was painted by A. Ragonnet.
